AM Best: Berkshire tops E&S rankings as DPW soars across 25 largest groups in 2021
Berkshire Hathaway Insurance Group grew surplus lines direct premiums written (DWP) by 18.4 percent in 2021 to edge out AIG as the largest of the top 25 groups in the sector, lagging the average growth rate of its peers but outpacing a relatively anaemic 8.2 percent expansion at Lloyd’s, according to AM Best.
